Hi! We’re Jodi and Jolene
Meet Jolene Van Hemert, CPA
Most businesses already have financial data. The problem is it’s late, inconsistent, or too technical to be useful when a decision needs to be made. Jolene works with businesses that are overwhelmed by the financial side of their operations and need someone to bring structure to it. She turns what’s messy or unclear into reporting and systems that actually support decisions.
She started her career in public practice at a national firm in 2015, but over time she noticed a gap. Compliance work tells you what happened. It rarely helps a business decide what to do next. That’s what led her to advisory and CFO services, where the conversations are forward-looking and the work is focused on what’s actually driving performance, where margins are slipping, and what needs to change.
She works with clients in real estate and construction, professional services, and retail and hospitality. When she’s not working with clients, Jolene enjoys pottery, hiking Kal Park, and spending winters on the slopes snowboarding with her family. In the summer, you’ll find her relaxing by the beach. She also serves on the board of the Shuswap Community Foundation, because building strong communities matters to her both in and out of the office.
Meet Jodi Bariesheff, Profit First Professional, CBP
Jodi Bariesheff is the owner of North Okanagan Bookkeeping, with over 17 years of experience in financial services spanning public practice, bookkeeping, and business consulting.
Jodi believes numbers tell a story, and every business owner deserves to understand what that story means for their business. For many, the financial side of their business feels overwhelming, not from a lack of ability, but because finances are rarely communicated in a way that’s practical or easy to act on. Jodi bridges that gap.
She works closely with businesses in healthcare, professional services, and construction, partnering with owners who want to move beyond simply “doing the books” to truly understanding their finances. Her expertise includes cash management, streamlined systems, and strategic financial planning.
Jodi holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) and Profit First Professional (PFP). Straightforward and easy to work with, she is focused on helping clients build businesses that don’t just survive, but generate real profits and real cash flow.
Outside of work, Jodi enjoys soccer, the gym, camping, and time with her husband and children.
